In a challenging message on July 6, J.R. Kerr encouraged us to move from being consumers to contributors, actively involved in living out Park's vision to see lives transformed and the city renewed.
Speaking out of Romans 12, he pointed out that our first response to God's grace in our lives should be that of service, working together as the body of Christ to bring God glory.
Too often we look to the church to meet our needs instead of offering the gifts and talents we have to contribute to what God is doing through our church.
Right now 25% of those who regularly attend Park are actively volunteering within the church and an additional 15% are volunteering in the city with Park's partner ministries. While we're thankful for those who are already engaged, we'd love to see more people actively involved in volunteering!
Here are a few ways to start volunteering at Park:
1 - Visit the Volunteer page and check out a list of ways you can get involved at Park. Create an account, login in and check them out...it's simple!
2 - Sign up to attend Park 201, our Spiritual Gifts class. In this class you'll discover how God has wired you and gifts and abilities He's given you. You'll also learn about ways you can get involved at Park and use your gifts!
3 - Check out OneServe opportunities, which allow you the chance to try out a variety of different volunteer roles on a one-time basis until you find one that fits your gifts and passions.
4 - Call our Volunteer Hotline at 312.361.0555 and leave your name, number, area of service you're interested in, and someone will be in touch with you about ways you can get involved.
