Approach to Deacon Ministry

Deacons are ministers of mercy, conduits of care for the church body.  A Deacon takes the hand of a person in need and connects them with a circle of helping hands within the church and the Chicago community.  Deacons serve the church body in a variety of ways as they interact directly with individuals, and also partner with small groups leaders to enhance care.

Prayer
Deacons will be available after each service or over the phone to those who would like prayer for themselves or someone they love.

Circle of Care
Deacons will initiate support around people who are grieving a death or are going through an illness, divorce, or another traumatic, life-changing event.

Hospital Visitation
Deacons will visit Park regular attendees in the hospital for major surgeries, illnesses, and new births, serving them by bringing fellowship, encouragement, and comfort.

Approach to Care Ministry

Care Leaders focus on issues in which they personally have found healing, victory, and freedom.  They encourage people to see their suffering and circumstances through the lens of the Gospel and to experience the love of Jesus in Christian community. The  ministry is designed to give comfort, encouragement, and hope, and to come alongside those who are struggling.

Care Classes
Christian counselors and local professionals teach informative, educational one-time classes on relevant issues in the church and today's society.

Care Groups
These Biblically-based support groups for men, women, and couples are 11-13 week experiences shared with people who have faced similar issues.

Care Shepherds
Care Shepherds offer one-on-one care to those who are going through a difficult time. They provide a listening ear and godly counsel as they have overcome, or lived through, similar issues.

Good $ense
The Good $ense counselors teach individuals how to honor God through the stewardship of financial resources including earning, giving, saving, debt reduction, and lifestyle spending plans, in addition to other financial issues.
