Alvin Bibbs on Social Justice
On August 3, Park welcomed Alvin Bibbs as our guest speaker. Alvin is the executive director of multi-cultural church relations for the Willow Creek Association, and an expert on racial reconciliation and social justice ministry. Alvin grew up blocks away from Park's Crosby Campus in the Cabrini Green housing development in the late 70s. Alvin shared on the development of a wholistic social justice ministry, a message that came at a pivotal time in the life of our church.
Park's 2008 Baptism Service
On July 27, 2008, over 90 people went “public” with their faith in Christ by being baptized as a part of Park Community Church’s annual baptism at Lake Michigan. Friends, family, and small group members lined the shore of North Avenue beach to congratulate and share in the joy of those being baptized.
Footsteps of Paul & the Disciples Tour
Follow in the footsteps of Paul as sojourners from Park travel to Turkey this Thanksgiving (November 26 - December 6). Turkey is the modern home of much of the New Testament - Ephesus, the region of Galatia, the city of Colosse (the book of Colossians), the seven churches of Revelation and more.
Water Purification Units Installed in Myanmar
Through your generous giving, Park was able to purchase 2 water pumps that are part of the 12 to be installed in Myanmar by Water Missions International. We are excited to report that the first pump was installed on July 8!
From Consumers to Contributors
In a challenging message on July 6, J.R. Kerr encouraged us to move from being consumers to contributors, actively involved in living out Park's vision to see lives transformed and the city renewed. Speaking out of Romans 12, he pointed out that our first response to God's grace in our lives should be that of service, working together as the body of Christ to bring God glory.
Matt Heard Teaches "Plumbing Theology"
Park's founding pastor Matt Heard joined us for services on June 29 and shared a timely reminder of why we are here in the city of Chicago. Matt was Park's founding pastor and shared vital insights of how we are to live our lives as Christ-followers in the city.
SportsLife Camp Offers Kids Fun and Builds Their Faith
"Excited About Jesus!" is the SportsLife Camp ministry theme, and is also a good description for the kids who attended this sports and art day camp during 2 fun weeks in June! Park was thrilled to offer families a camp alternative where kids could build up their sports skills, and also be encouraged to love the God who created them.
Park Saves Green By Going "Green"

We've changed locations, have a new logo, updated our website, and now we're changing the way we communicate with you.
Park Welcomes J.R. Kerr

Introducing Park's New Logo
Park has a new logo! While 'the leaf' served us well, we've created a new logo to show that we are a church for the city of Chicago.
